High Line

New York

Ken Greenberg has been engaged by the Friends of the High Line to collaborate with Diller Scofidio Renfro on a study to to evaluate the larger context at the northern section of the High Line and work with community stakeholders to develop an urban scale response/strategy to improve connectivity, porosity and the pedestrian experience taking into account the intensity and variety of current proposals for this area of the city, including: Penn Station, Moynihan Station, Madison Square Garden, Port Authority, Hell’s Kitchen South Coalition, Javits Center, and the High Line itself. The focus will be on broad strategies to develop a comprehensive and generous public realm for the area and on specific next step interventions, looking specifically at connections from the Spur to Penn Station and from the 33/34th Street block to Javits Center and Hudson River Park.
