Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology share a campus in North Oshawa are recognized as extraordinary academic institutions with programs ranging from information technology and engineering to sustainable environment, applied research and health and community services. The common denominator is a commitment to innovation, success, partnership and community building. Both institutions have recently refreshed their strategic plans; outlining clear visions and the foundations necessary to guide growth and achievement over the next decade. A key objective in both strategic plans is to be always forward-looking in addressing land use andinfrastructure development in order to meet the evolving academic and student needs. The intent is to be proactive and to work collaboratively. The College and University have retained Ken Greenberg as part of a team led by MMM Consultants to prepare a Campus Master Plan to ensure a comprehensive framework is in place for the long-term evolution of the campus. The goal of the Master Plan project is to deliver a compelling and relevant visual concept that is realistic and implementable together with timeline, phasing, costing and decision making recommendations while dealing with a variety of internal and external demands as the surrounding area undergoes redevelopment.
